Ainamar Clariana Rodagut

Ainamar Clariana is a doctoral student in the Information and Knowledge Society program at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She is writing her second thesis, supervised by Diana Roig-Sanz (CON ENLACE INTERNO A TEAM > RESEARCHERS > DIANA ROIG-SANZ) and Malte Hagener, which is focused on cultural mediators and Ibero-American film clubs between 1923 and 1963 with a specific focus on women mediators. Between January and March 2021, she was a visiting researcher at the European Cinema Audiences project in Oxford Brookes University.

Ainamar holds a PhD in Humanities from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2012-2017), with the thesis “Iconography of the eye: From the cinema of authors related to surrealist aesthetics (1926-1932)”, supervised by Victoria Cirlot.

During her first research stay, at the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas (IIE) at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) (2015-2016) under Rita Eder Rozencwaig, she coordinated the Seminario de Análisis Cinematográfico (SUAC), which was awarded a research grant (PAPIIT 2016) at the time.

Prior, she completed a master thesis in comparative studies, literature, art, and thought at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2010-2012) and undergraduate studies in audiovisual communications at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2006-2010).

As a member of the Global Literary Studies Research Lab, she works as a PhD candidate for the ERC StG “Social Networks of the Past. Mapping Hispanic and Lusophone Literary Modernity, 1898-1959” (Grant Agreement: 803860), led by Diana Roig-Sanz at the UOC.

Her research interests include cultural history, new cinema history and global cinema, social network analysis, digital humanities, and gender studies.
